Measuring smart land use in urban-rural regions of China: A case study of Pukou, Nanjing City
To promote economic growth, China is adopting a new urbanisation and industrialisation development model. This article explores how smart land use in the urban-rural regions of China is achieved through an integrated measure indicator system, which comprises three sub-systems: land amount controls, land form compactness, and land use efficiency. It presents a case study of Pukou District in Nanjing City, which uses the system that was found to be effective for measuring the level and status of regional smart land use.

Sport events, urban regimes, and community development: A case study of Nanjing, China
Many cities around the world find it challenging to distinguish themselves from others in an increasingly competitive market for tourism, economic development and investment. This research explores Nanjing’s community development agenda and ongoing events strategy. It finds that Nanjing’s agenda targets disadvantaged groups or neighbourhoods, with a particular focus on community development that encourages community participation.
